IMO (in my opinion), having your first auto is an unforgettable experience that possibly rivals the memory of your first kiss—granted of course that you’re as passionate for cars as you are for romantic trysts. The first time I entered my first brand new ride, I remember taking one long sniff of that “freshly-bought and brand new leather car seats” scent. I ran my hands through the glorious leather seats, embedding every slight ridge and bump into memory. Then the shiny dashboard that would bear witness to thousands of “close-calls” I had, driving on my own for the first few times. I even took pictures of my auto, which are now lost along with my mobile phone. :’(
(**A quick note to the lucky person who managed to get his or her hands on my phone—the least you could do was contact me. I needed some of those contacts…*insert expletive here*.) –As you can tell, I still have some issues that I need to resolve after losing my mobile.
Anyways, back to my post. While your brand new ride may come with a number of “crucial” accessories, a number of the most important accessories, you’ll have to buy on your own. So the following is a top ten list of car accessories that can help you keep your ride in excellent condition.
#1 Auto Seat Cover: I know how you may love your new leather seats, but if you’re anything like me, translation: you love eating or drinking coffee while stuck in heavy traffic, then you need to keep your original seat protected. If you also happen to smoke a lot (guilty still), then keep your seat protected from burns, stains, wear and tear with this handy accessory.
#2 The Car Cover: If you park outdoors or if you happen to be fond of parking under trees, then protect your ride from the occasional messy missiles released by the friendly neighborhood pigeon or similar feathered fiend with the car cover. Your car cover can also keep your vehicle protected from scratches and dents produced by curious children playing around your auto.
Remember, when buying a car cover, make sure you look for the right car cover for your ride. Don’t go for those “one-size-fits-all products—seriously, they won’t offer enough protection for your car.
#3 Floor Mats: Now, I didn’t use to have a floor mat. That was until I started driving my nieces to pre-school. Muddy boots during the rainy season, combined with my auto carpet is not a pretty sight. Let’s just say, I learned my lesson. The floor mat is a great way by which you can give your car a customized look, while keeping your original carpeting protected. Just be sure to buy a floor mat that matches your vehicle interior’s overall motif.
#4 The Steering Wheel Cover: And again, with the “eating while driving” scenario. Grease on your hands makes gripping the steering wheel harder. Improve your grip with the steering wheel cover. Oh, and did I mention that you can purchase these handy covers in various prints and colors? What better way to ensure safe driving while giving your ride a modified look than with the handy and stylish steering wheel cover?
